The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-C4810, a New Entry-Level Color MFP

The latest addition to the color business inkjet market

Apr 12, 2022 12:22:28 PM

Designed to meet the needs of a changing market, the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-C4810 could not have arrived at a better time. With hybrid working and the need for a small footprint influencing current product trends, Epson emphasizes the versatility of its latest color business inkjet for use in the home as well as the office. An entry-level MFP, the device utilizes Epson technologies such as PrecisionCore Heat-Free to drive efficiency without hindering performance.

This new MFP has been designed and built around three key areas: sustainability, productivity, and reliability, and all of them mesh with Epson’s value proposition. Sustainability considerations result in what the company claims is the lowest power consumption in its class and the use of the aforementioned Epson PrecisionCore Heat-Free, and reduced waste from higher cartridge yields, which can increase productivity. Fewer interventions and higher productivity stem from a simple design with fewer moving parts to increase reliability and minimize downtime.

Epson has focused the WF-C4810 at three verticals: corporate, education, and retail. The hope is that the versatility of the new device—with its focus on reliability, productivity, and compact size—will increase its appeal to space- and efficiency-conscious customers. And what differentiates this device over its predecessor? Firstly, the recommended monthly duty cycle, the standard cartridge ink yield, and the black print speed have all increased. The device is compatible with the Epson Smart Panel App, thereby enabling greater remote flexibility and firmware that can be customized.

A $219 starting price and the option of a two-tiered warranty are also commendable features. The device and associated consumables are exclusively for commercial channels and, although Epson is not offering a PaaS (Print-as-a-Service) program, some partners may. The device is not Wi-Fi enabled, but the customization of firmware could make this an option, further widening the target market scope.

Keypoint Intelligence Opinion

Overall, the initial impression of the new Epson WorkForce WF-C4810 is positive. Increased speeds as well as a focus on reliability, efficiency, and a smaller office footprint will appeal to the hybrid working and retail markets. App compatibility and the use of heat-free technology are also great features. We’re looking forward to testing the device to further assess its capabilities.
