Kyocera and HP Honored with BLI’s Prestigious Printer “Line of the Year” Awards

January 14, 2011 – Hackensack (NJ) – Thanks to the overall strength of both manufacturers’ product lines, Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI) has selected Kyocera Mita as winner of its “Monochrome Printer Line of the Year” and Hewlett-Packard Company as the winner of its “Color Printer Line of the Year.” These accolades, announced once a year, are given to honor the vendors with the best product lines in their respective categories.
The selection is made by BLI’s highly experienced staff of technicians and editors after subjecting scores of office printers from every major vendor to BLI’s unique battery of laboratory tests. The award recognizes the manufacturers of the best range of printers, from small workgroup to departmental, for demonstrated excellence across the entire product line in BLI lab testing. Factors considered by BLI in selecting “Line of the Year” include reliability, overall economy, ease of use, print quality and productivity, among others.

Kyocera’s Monochrome Printers Equal Value and Reliability
All five Kyocera monochrome printers and MFPs tested by BLI in 2010 received the “Highly Recommended” rating for their excellent overall performance in BLI’s lab and four garnered individual “Pick” awards, making Kyocera the obvious choice for “Monochrome Printer Line of the Year.”

For the second time since 2008, HP has earned BLI’s “Color Printer Line of the Year” award, reinforcing the strength and scope of its color printer offerings. “HP’s color and printer MFPs—from inkjet and SOHO models to mid-size and large workgroup devices—provide quality color output in the default mode,” said BLI Senior Printer Analyst Marlene Orr. “And consistent color from first print to last means users will get the output they expect, regardless of how many pages they print.”
